REST FOR THE SOUL
“Ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.”
JEREMIAH 6:16 NIV
Are you exhausted? Does life’s treadmill have you running faster than you can endure? If your answer is yes, you may be chasing earthly security that does not satisfy and causes crisis after crisis. Sadly, when you place your hope in temporal things—money, status, achievements, acceptance, or even the love of your family and friends—your foundation will inevitably crumble. Earthly solutions will not satisfy the deepest needs of your heart and cannot defend against the troubles that arise. Your identity must be based on something greater than what the world offers if you are to stand strong.
As the old saying goes, life is not about who you are; it’s about whose you are. And your exhaustion is evidence that you haven’t given yourself fully to God. Your challenge is to get out of the way so Christ can lead you. Because when you finally see how beloved you are and the abundant life He has for you, you will begin to live for God, through His power. That is the way to find rest for your soul.
Jesus, I confess that I am still trying to be in control. Show me Your ways so I may live in Your strength and for Your glory. Amen.
